Warm Opulence. Resin, Fire, and Shadow.
Lighting the Oriental Candle is an act of spatial transformation. Far from being a festive or strident fragrance, this composition explores the sophistication of resins and sweet woods as they encounter heat.
The experience begins with a contrast: the citrus spark of Lime illuminates the opening, but quickly yields the spotlight to a dense heart of Patchouli and Amber Wood. The base, sustained by a mature, dark Vanilla, creates an atmosphere of "olfactory velvet." It is the perfect aroma to envelop a room in warmth during cold nights or moments of introspection.
Ideal for accompanying reading, a glass of wine, or simply for winding down at the end of the day with soft, aromatic light.
Olfactory Architecture
- Family: Oriental / Amber.
- Top Notes: Fresh Lime.
- Heart Notes: Patchouli, Amber Wood.
- Base Notes: Mature Vanilla, Resins.
- Presentation: 8 oz Candle (Slow Burn, 48 to 50 hours).
The Fire Ritual
On the first light, allow the wax to melt to the edges of the container to prevent "tunneling." Before each new use, subtly trim the wick. Oriental is a candle with a commanding presence; its warmth can be felt in the air minutes after lighting.
For a complete enveloping experience (Scent Layering), combine with the Oriental Diffuser.
The Chronicle
Why we pour in soy wax and not paraffin — the technical reason behind the 48 to 50 hours of burn time.
The patchouli in its heart comes from Papua New Guinea. Read the botanical chronicle of Papua Patchouli.
To properly enjoy the candle you're holding, it's important to follow these recommendations:
- When lighting the candle, you should leave it until the entire surface has melted. This first step will create a homogeneous melt pool that will make it burn evenly.
- Burn it for a maximum of 3 hours. The first use of the candle should occur within the first 2 months after receiving it, to fully enjoy its fragrance.
- Preferably extinguish the candle with a snuffer, as blowing it out can release soot.
- Never burn the candle all the way down.
- Before relighting, make sure the surface is solid and clean. Trim the wick to a height of 5mm.
- Try to use the candle on a separate base or plate.
- Do not leave the candle unattended, or within reach of children, pets, and curtains. Do not place the candle in front of a draft.
- Never move a lit candle.
